Charleston Wine and Food Festival

Charleston Wine and Food Festival showcased Charleston’s top local sommelier’s Clint Sloan from McCrady’s, Patrick Emerson from High Cotton and Brad Ball from Social. Master Sommelier, Bob Bath graciously introduced this panel, then went on to lead another seminar showcasing his Greenhough wines with Martinelli’s Pinot Noir, Syrah and Chardonnay. Notably the Greenhough, Hope Vineyard Pinot Noir, Nelson NZ was outstanding!

Monarch Crystal is pleased to have  showcased all these wines with our Encore Collection Red and White wine glasses.

We’re curious what are some of the favorite New Zealand wines that our friends enjoy. Post your comments and receive a promo code to purchase our glassware at 30% off the listed prices.

Matthew McKeown also known as the Kob of Wine.

Erik is known as the Phil of Graham-marquiS.

Enjoyed a 1989 Latour A Pomerol last Sunday night with Pork Loin with Fennel accented mushroom demi-gloss. The wine was sipped out of Monarch Crystal Ovation series 22 oz Bordeaux glasses. The glass could not have been more perfect to showcase the earth tones of this 20 year old wine. We decanted it for 30 minutes with the Power Decanter. It was gently decanted and continued to evolve in the glass. Subtle fruit, subtle spices, perfect balance and the food brought out the structure of the wine. Food without wine is like a fine Bordeaux without a great glass, not quite showing it’s full potential. The glass truly does make a difference.
Cheers!
